Johnson beats Banks County in scrimmage

HOMER - Johnson relied on its rushing attack in a 21-20 scrimmage game win against Banks County Friday in Homer. The Knights' sophomore running back Mantevius Rucker scored two touchdowns on the night, each long carries for more than 30 yards.

Trojans get back to The Brickyard

Friday's scrimmage at the Brickyard will be mostly used as a learning tool for North Hall football coach Bob Christmas. The Trojans coach liked the idea that he'll have plenty of quality film to evaluate against Class AAAAA's Roswell, which has been a top-tier Class AAAAA program in recent seasons, even though it did result in a 21-19 loss.

Mongero aims to aid Czech baseball

North Hall High baseball coach Trent Mongero is on a mission to send a great big Christmas present to the Czech Republic. He's hoping to send huge packages loaded down with baseball and softball equipment to the people in Hluboka, where he recently visited on a 12-day trip to share his faith and love of baseball through an organization called Purpose Driven Baseball.
