Flowery Branch QB picks up South Carolina offer

Flowery Branch junior quarterback Connor Shaw picked up an official scholarship offer from South Carolina on Wednesday. South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier and quarterback coach G.A. Mangus flew in to Gainesville and drove down to Flowery Branch to meet with Shaw and his father and Falcons coach Lee Shaw. Connor now has official scholarship offers from the Gamecocks, Georgia Tech and Stanford. Shaw had quite an impressive junior season leading Flowery Branch to the Class AAA state title game.

It's a labor of love for the University of Michigan men's rowing coach, who has led his team to seven straight American Collegiate Rowing Association (ACRA) national championships, including four since the tournament moved to Gainesville.
