Democratic leaders fail to do their jobs

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a budget for FY 2012 called "Cut, Cap, and Balance." The U.S. Senate would be expected to offer it's version of a 2012 budget. Next a committee would be formed to hammer out a budget acceptable to both houses and the president. That's the way the American people expect government to be managed.

My name is Charlie Pearce, retired Navy captain and husband of 43 years to my wife, Gretchan Pearce. Here is an easy solution for our nation’s debt limit wrangle

Children, teach parents to notice your achievements

I recently took my granddaughter to her karate class. While waiting, I watched outside until her class was ready. I observed a gigantic SUV pull up and stop. The driver let two young boys out by themselves while he found two parking spots large enough for his vehicle.

Your Views: McEver Road repairs should be a higher priority

I am curious to know how a main road like McEver Road can be closed for such an extended period of time? We live off Jim Crow Road so we have been taking the detour like everyone else since the heavy rains last month caused the washout.

Your Views: Obama administration’s litany of lies deserve to be criticized

Recently a letter appeared in which the writer condemned the Times for a commentary by the editorial board that sharply criticized the Obama administration. In reading and rereading the column, I find no fault in the editorial that truthfully stated what must be illegal acts by the Internal Revenue Service and the attorney general.
