Gov. Nathan Deal appointed two Gainesville men to statewide boards Friday. Philip Wilheit Jr. was named to the board of directors for the Department of Natural Resources, and Gainesville Fire Chief Jon Canada will serve on the Georgia Board of Public Safety.
