Take a cruise, save a lake

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is hosting a tour of Lake Lanier aboard the Chota Princess II, a 40-foot catamaran, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6. The cruise will leave from Aqualand Marina, 6800 Lights Ferry Road in Flowery Branch, and will be the final Lake Lanier cruise of the year.

The Dahlonega community is offering garden enthusiasts the opportunity to hear nationally recognized, multimedia personality Erica Glasener, who will speak at Dahlonega Park and Recreation, 365 Riley Road, at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8. The Georgia Mountains Master Gardeners organization is hosting Glasener for a lecture on "Designing a Garden for Four Seasons." This event is free to the public with refreshments being served.
