Cherokee beats Towns County, 39-20
Cherokee, N.C., defeated Towns County 39-20 on Friday night in Hiawassee. Noah Calhoun had 102 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, and Jackson Noblet added 101 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries for Towns County. Cherokee's Joseph Walkingstick had 228 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries in the win. Towns County (0-2) plays host to Copper Basin (Tenn.) (3-0) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
