Local products earn collegiate honors at Truett

Hall County natives, Christina Davis and Joy Smith, recently received national recognition for their successful soccer season at Truett-McConnell College. Davis, an East Hall graduate, received the National Christian College Athletic Association All-region award.

Trio of Lady Saints recognized on All-Region team

Emily Dover of North Georgia College & State University's women's soccer team was named a First-Team All-Region selection in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The Co-Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year was one of four first-team forwards from the Southeast. Dover scored a school-record 16 goals on the year and added five assists.

Lady Saints fall to Armstrong in NCAA tournament

SAVANNAH -- The No. 25 North Georgia women's soccer team had every chance to put Armstrong away in the second round of the NCAA tournament, but the Pirates scored a goal in each half and emerged with a 2-0 victory at Pirate Field. The Lady Saints (16-3-1) cap the most successful season in school history.
