Lady Saints fall in D-II World Series
SALEM, VA - Top-ranked Alabama-Huntsville left no room for doubt Friday afternoon in the second round of the NCAA Division II National Championships, pounding out four home runs and running away with a 14-2 victory over North Georgia in the battle of the top two teams in the country at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va.
North Georgia opens up College World Series with 9-4 win
SALEM, Va. - North Georgia College & State University's softball team faced an early 3-0 deficit on Thursday evening against 11th-ranked Indiana (Pa.), but the Saints rallied with nine unanswered runs to storm back and take a 9-4 victory on the opening day of the Division II World Series at the Salem Sports complex in Salem, Va.
Brenau softball places 3 players on Louisville Slugger All-Region squad
Brenau University softball players Tiffany Schandera, Morgan Smith and Jenny Shepherd have been named to the 2011 Louisville Slugger All-Region team, announced Wednesday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Anna Maness was named to the second team for the Golden Tigers.

The win was only the second NCAA postseason victory in school history for the third-seeded Lions (31-13).

DAHLONEGA - Last season North Georgia softball pitcher Sarah Phillips won more than 50 games and was named the Peach Belt Conference Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season. This season, Phillips only has 19 wins and most likely will not win her third straight PBC award.

The world championships will be held July 18-28 in Lithuania.
