Piedmont women top Covenant

East Hall graduate Sada Wheeler led the Lady Lions with 18 points, 14 rebounds and nine blocks in a 86-43 win against Covenant College. Piedmont held a 15-point lead at the half before exploding for nearly 50 more in the second half en route to the 43-point victory. The women shot 51-percent from the floor and 83-percent at the free throw line. Senior Amber Satterfield connected from long range to push the lead to 16-4 not even six minutes into action, as the women ran away with their 20th win of the season.

Wheeler earns conference honors

Piedmont College senior Sada Wheeler grabbed her sixth Great South Athletic Conference Player of the Week Award this season to close out the conference awards for this year. In a pair of pivotal GSAC games this week, the East Hall grad dominated starting with 22 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks in a comeback win over LaGrange.
