Piedmont College to join USA South Athletic Conference

Plans are currently in motion to move Piedmont College to the USA South Athletic Conference, the school announced Monday in a joint press conference with the commissioner of the conference, Rita Wiggs.

Lady Saints sweep doubleheader

The fourth-ranked North Georgia College & State University softball team opened Peach Belt Conference play Thursday by sweeping a doubleheader with Flagler College, 8-1, 6-1, at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium in Dahlonega. North Georgia (26-6, 2-0 PCB) starter Sarah Phillips (11-3) earned the win on the mound, while giving up only one hit in Game 1. Jessica Coan (11-3) allowed two hits and one run, while walking three and striking out nine to earn the win in Game 2.
