Lady Saints fall to Armstrong in NCAA tournament

SAVANNAH -- The No. 25 North Georgia women's soccer team had every chance to put Armstrong away in the second round of the NCAA tournament, but the Pirates scored a goal in each half and emerged with a 2-0 victory at Pirate Field. The Lady Saints (16-3-1) cap the most successful season in school history.

The Piedmont College volleyball team got a record-breaking performance from Paige Eslinger Tuesday to rally for a 3-1 (11-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-23) victory at in-state foe Brenau University. Eslinger posted 42 digs in the match, a NCAA-era program record, with the 22nd dig of her night also representing the 1,000th of her Lady Lion career.
