Lady Saints sweep doubleheader
The fourth-ranked North Georgia College & State University softball team opened Peach Belt Conference play Thursday by sweeping a doubleheader with Flagler College, 8-1, 6-1, at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium in Dahlonega. North Georgia (26-6, 2-0 PCB) starter Sarah Phillips (11-3) earned the win on the mound, while giving up only one hit in Game 1. Jessica Coan (11-3) allowed two hits and one run, while walking three and striking out nine to earn the win in Game 2.
North Georgia baseball drops one spot in polls
The North Georgia College & State University baseball team dropped one spot in last week's Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Division II Top 30 Poll, coming in at No. 11 in the country following a weekend sweep in Peach Belt Conference action.
