Chestatee grad Jovaag named SSA Player of the Week
Oglethorpe senior guard and Chestatee High graduate Branden Jovaag was named the Southern Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Jovaag averaged 17.7 points per game and shot 54.1 percent as Oglethorpe went 2-1 last week.
Brenau's Jasova ranked No. 4 nationally by ITA
Brenau University junior Dominika Jasova is ranked No. 4 nationally in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's preseason women's singles player rankings. Sophomore Maria Perdomo-Medina is also ranked at No. 22.

Union County's Zach Odom and White County's Brett Westmoreland signed to continue their academic and baseball careers with Young Harris College beginning next fall, the college announced Thursday.
