Georgia IronDawgs weightlifters Tim Moon and C.J. Allen of Gainesville set personal records and qualified for the Southern Powerlifting Federation World Championships by winning their classes on Sunday at the SPF National Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Allen squatted 720 and 760 before finishing with a personal record of 800 pounds.
The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low-net, blind-partner event on Thursday Chattahoochee Golf Course. The team of Susan Prather and Nancy Negley finished in first place, Peggy Hall and Ann Hollobaugh came in second, and Beulah Land and Carolyn Palmer were third. Less than a week after winning his class at the APC Nationals, Kevin Eubanks of Bogart finished second in the 200-pound Masters' class at the Georgia's Strongest Man competition at the Fitness Depot in Douglasville on Saturday. With that finish, Eubanks qualified for the North American Strongman Nationals.

Steve Blair and Danny Power won the Royal Lakes 2012 Member-Member tournament Sunday, besting a field of 40 two-man teams competing in five flights. The winners of each flight advanced to a shootout, where Blair and Power outlasted Andy Todd and Tony Weyenberg.
