Local golf: Jordan wins at Chicopee Woods

The DPG Golf Group played matches at Chicopee Woods Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week. On Monday, Denis Jordan won with a (+9), and Norm Phillips placed second (+6). Jerry Pearson won on Wednesday (+5) and Dave Jetter finished second (+4). Then on Friday, Phillips won with a (+2), and Jetter was second at even.

Outdoor fishing report: Head to the mountains for solid trout fishing

Lake temperatures have cooled a little into the mid 60s but look for them to rise back into the low 70s with this weekend's warmer weather. Lake Lanier is just under full at 1,070.7 feet and is clear to slightly stained on main lake and slightly stained in the creeks and rivers.

Local golf: Hollobaugh wins contest at Chattahoochee

Ann Hollobaugh took first place Tuesday as the Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a Par-3/Par-5 contest at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. Carolyn Palmer and Ann White tied for second, with Sue Cronmiller placing fourth. Closest to the pin winners were White on No. 3 and Palmer on No. 17.

Martha Shell and Steven Knowles tied at +6 to take first place as the DPG played the first of three matches this week at the Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Horace Smallwood (+5) was second, while Jerry Pearson and Dave Jetter tied for third at +4.

Mona White, Nancy Negley and Carolyn Palmer teamed up to take first place as the Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association opened its season Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.
