Bailey transfers to Georgia Southern
East Hall High graduate Korentheus Bailey has completed a transfer from Western Kentucky University to play football at Georgia Southern University starting in the spring.

The Lanier Soccer Association will hold walk-up registration for the Spring 2011 recreation soccer season from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Jan. 8 and Jan. 15 and from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Jan. 11 at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex off of Monroe Drive.
Local lifters fare well at championship meet
Seven weightlifters from the Team Georgia program qualified and competed at the American Open Weightlifting Championship over the weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio. The American Open is the second biggest championship in the country and is used as a qualifier for several International Championships. A total of 238 athletes competed for medals. The five women who competed from Team Georgia are all Junior or School Age division competitors.
IronDawgs powerlifting team takes narrow victory
New world records galore went up in a clash of champions from different associations at the Body By George Southern Powerlifting Federation Mini Meet in Loganville on Saturday. With the win, the Georgia IronDawgs hoisted another team trophy.
Area lifters have good showing at world championships
Argentina's Mauro Spinardi won the men's Best Lifter Trophy and the overall Champions of Champions Trophy, but Team USA took home the team trophies at the inaugural Global Powerlifting Alliance Bench Press and Powerlifting World Championships held in Jonesboro last weekend.
