SEC Banter: Impressive turnarounds by Auburn, Missouri

An all-Tigers SEC Championship kicks off Saturday afternoon in the Georgia Dome as No. 5 Missouri faces No. 3 Auburn. A national title appearance is on the line if the pathetically slow, boring, and overrated Ohio State Buckeyes lay an egg in the Big 10 championship game.

Clausen: Gainesville playing at a championship level

Largely because of the high quality of coaching in the Hall County football programs, every week's a test. There are few easy weeks and the team that ends up on top is battle tested and accustomed to playing against tough, well-coached opponents.

SEC Banter: An SEC Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday. It's uniquely American and without the assorted pressures of Christmas. A time to be grateful for life's many blessings. Family, friends, health, and our wonderful country of opportunity and advancement.

Prevost: Game notes clearly reflect conference's lovable absurdity

Chaos reigned supreme in the SEC last week. No. 6 LSU, No. 7 Texas A&M, No. 11 South Carolina, No. 15 Georgia, and No. 22 Florida all went down in flames. Suddenly we're looking at a Missouri vs. Alabama SEC championship game if the Tide emerges from the Iron Bowl unscathed.

Johnson: Couples once again on the Masters leaderboad

He walks up the 17th fairway at Augusta National uncomfortably upright, his hands clutched to both ends of a 7-iron that stretches toward the sky behind his head. He rocks the club from one hip to the other, bending his back side-to-side as he grimaces.
