A list of nearly 600 city and county government agencies in jeopardy of losing access to millions of dollars in state loans and grants for failing to comply with a section of Georgia's anti-illegal-immigration law doesn't include local governments in Hall County.
Gainesville City Council on Tuesday approved an expenditure of $265,000 by the Public Utilities Department to cover the cost of new water meters this year. Council also approved a $129,089.50 purchase of a truck-mounted asphalt patcher. Each expenditure will come from the department's capital improvements fund.
Hall County's Board of Commissioners on Thursday approved an agreement with Free Chapel that trades weekend parking availability at the government center for access to the church's McEver Road driveway.
