Week 10 Power Ratings: Falcons, Red Elephants ahead of the pack
1. Flowery Branch (9-0) Power rating 3.88, Average Points 49.11, Average Allowed 12.67: Flowery Branch is coming off a dominating win against Region 8-AAAA rival, the Salem Seminoles.
Week 9 Power Ratings: Undefeated Falcons flying high
1. Flowery Branch (8-0), PR 3.66, Average Points 48.50, Average Allowed 13.25: Loganville gave the Falcons a good night's work and kept the game competitive through the first half last Friday, then the Falcons pulled away to remain Hall County's only undefeated team.
Week 9 Power Ratings: Flowery Branch still the class of Hall County
1. Flowery Branch (7-0) Power rating 3.99, Average Points 48.43, Average Allowed 12.14: Flowery Branch visited Heritage last Friday and for the first time this year, in my opinion, played a team which was almost as good as they were.

Football is a uniquely American sport. It was developed in this country, and the game itself represents the rough-and-tumble nature of the American people.

Week 3 Power Ratings: Flowery Branch continuing to dominate
The Hall County schools have played 15 games in the first three weeks of the season, and Hall County's best team, Flowery Branch, is 3-0 against Class AAAA competition.
Week 2 power ratings: Falcons still flying high
Clearly, Hall County's best team based upon two games against Class AAAA teams is Flowery Branch.
Week 1 football power ratings: Flowery Branch playing winning football
I use a simple formula to rate the Hall County football teams early in the year and that is the ratio of points scored against points allowed.
Clausen: County's best is still The Branch
The regular season is over and only two Hall County teams move into the playoffs. Gainesville is the Region champ in 8-AAA and Flowery Branch as a No. 2 seed in 8-AAAA.
Clausen: Flowery Branch stays on top of the county's ratings
At the end of week 10, all Hall County teams have played nine games and had a bye week. Region 8-AAA teams Gainesville and Johnson have play-in games, with Gainesville at White County for the region title and the top seed in the Class AAA playoffs. Johnson plays Stephens County and if the Knights win, they become a No. 4 seed.

I watched Johnson play Oconee County last Friday night and I want to share with you some of my observations. I have known for a number of years, that the Knights had fewer players on their squad than their opponents.
Clausen: Falcons top Power Ratings again
Flowery Branch High and Gainesville High continue to perform at a championship level, the only loss between them was the Red Elephants' loss to Class AA's then top-ranked Buford in the first game of the season. Gainesville is significantly better than they were then as their freshman quarterback Deshaun Watson shows improvement each week.
Clausen: Flowery Branch led by well-rounded offense
Last Friday night my wife and I watched the White County Warriors and North Hall Trojans play a very competitive game. The contest was as good as advertised and the Brickyard was packed.
