Gainesville rolls past Columbus and advance to state semifinals

An early penalty by Columbus set the Gainesville boys up for success. Just four minutes into the match, the Red Elephants' Yunis Yanes was fouled just outside of the penalty box, resulting in a red card for Columbus captain Paul Anderson. Ricardo Gomez attempted the ensuing free kick for Gainesville. The Gainesville girls tennis team will look back on this season as a growing experience after a 3-2 loss against North Atlanta on Thursday at Longwood Park ended their season in the second round of state playoffs.
