Hall County names interim administrator

Hall County Director of Human Resources Charley Nix will stand in as the interim county administrator after current Administrator Jim Shuler retires June 30, the county commission announced Thursday.

Nix will temporarily hold the position while a national search for a new administrator is conducted and will continue to act as the director of human resources during this time.

Clear weather in doubt for weekend

Though it's been a stormy spring, there was not a cloud in sight at Wednesday's Blue Sky Concert.

People of all ages came out to enjoy the nice day and listen to music while many hoped the temperate weather would stick around for the variety of Memorial Day weekend events. But it looks like they may not get their wish.

Development authority gives Gainesville, Hall permission to collaborate on industrial park

A plot of land that was once doomed to be a spray field will blossom into an industrial park within a few years if construction goes as smoothly as it has for others in the area.

The Gainesville and Hall County Development Authority approved the intergovernmental development agreement that will allow Gainesville and Hall County to collaborate on the new industrial park at a meeting Tuesday.

Hall County and Gainesville map 170-acre industrial park

The Hall County Board of Commissioners discussed plans Monday for an industrial park on Calvary Church Road that advocates say will bring improvements to the area.

The industrial park would be a joint venture between Gainesville and Hall County and would be developed by Gwinnett Industries Inc. on a 170-acre site adjacent to the new county jail and Chicopee Woods Agricultural Center.
