With regions aligned, schools can prepare for upcoming school years
Since the first reports of the new Georgia High School Association regions were released Tuesday, coaches and athletic directors have been feverishly trying to figure out what schedules for the next two years are going to look like. Now that every school knows its region opponents, a host of new questions emerge.
GHSA announces new region alignment
THOMASTON -- As part of the ongoing switch to a six-classification system, the Georgia High School Association placed schools into regions Tuesday, giving area schools some new competition. While many schools will be scattered to unfamiliar regions, 7-AAA will be made of almost all local schools, as Buford joins North Hall, West Hall, East Hall, Banks County, White County, Dawson County and Fannin County.
