Badge and Bar: June arraignment set in Wal-Mart armed robbery

Dustin James Brookshire of Oakwood was indicted April 24 by a Hall County grand jury on charges of armed robbery and theft by receiving.

He is accused of threatening a man with a wooden club in a Dec. 30, 2013, robbery from a Wal-Mart in Oakwood, allegedly taking a television.

According to investigators, he additionally received stolen property, a Chevy Tahoe, worth more than $1,500.

Brookshire has a prior felony record, and was arrested in April last year by the Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad, along with his brother David Patrick Brookshire, for trafficking methamphetamine.

He is scheduled for a June 4 arraignment in Superior Court on the armed robbery charge.

Two trafficking cases indicted by grand jury

A Hall County grand jury indicted two cocaine trafficking cases in April.

Marisela Burgos, Matilde Jaramillo Burgos and Bernardo Burgos-Cruz are accused of knowingly possessing more than 28 grams of cocaine in a May 9, 2012, arrest.

A Tuesday arraignment for the three Gainesville residents has been set in Superior Court.

Also indicted for trafficking, in a separate incident, were Nathan Dewitt Rucker of Gainesville and Frances Kamilla Smith of Flowery Branch, for possession of more than 28 grams on Dec. 4, 2013.

The two are set for indictment on Aug. 4.
