Belk Spring Charity Sale set for Saturday

POSTED: May 1, 2014 11:43 p.m.

Shoppers can find some big bargains Saturday while helping local nonprofits at the Belk’s Spring Charity Sale.

In return for purchasing a $5 ticket, shoppers receive discounts on merchandise during the event from 6-10 a.m. Saturday.

Customers also receive a $5 credit on Charity Sale purchases, offsetting the cost of the ticket. Charities keep all of the money from each $5 ticket sold.

Tickets are being sold by participating nonprofit organizations and at Belk stores. All revenues from in-store ticket purchases are equally divided among participating charities and schools in each local store.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Belk, Inc. is the nation’s largest family-owned and operated department store company with 299 Belk stores, including the Lakeshore Mall location in Gainesville. Belk is located in 16 Southern states and has a growing digital presence.

Last year’s charity sale raised more than $5 million nationwide. For more information, visit www.belk.com/charitysale.
