POSTED: May 1, 2014 1:00 a.m.

What do you get with a beauty, a beast and a huntsman? The classic fairy tale of “Beauty and the Beast.”

Gainesville High Schools’ theater students are prepared to bring the Disney favorite alive for next week in four performances at the Pam Ware Performing Arts Center. The center is at 830 Century Place, Gainesville.

The school added a 7:30 p.m. preview performance Tuesday, May 6. Tickets for the Wednesday through Friday shows are sold out.

Tickets are $5 each. The school accepts cash or check. Tickets can only be requested by emailing ghstheatre@bellsouth.net with the name and number of tickets. Allow up to 48 hours for an email confirmation.

All tickets need to be picked up between 6:30-7 p.m. the night of the performance.

“Beauty and the Beast” focuses on Belle, a young girl who is dissatisfied with life in a small provincial French town. She is constantly trying to fend off the misplaced “affections” of conceited Gaston.

The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell because he could not love.

To save her father’s life, Belle agrees to remain in the Beast’s castle forever. With the help of singing accessories, the two character learn to change and accept each other.
