Vaccinate, microchip pets for protection

POSTED: April 24, 2014 1:00 a.m.

Vaccinating and microchipping pets are top priorities for the staff of the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia.

Staff members plan to accomplish both goals during the Rabies and Wellness Clinic from 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday at the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, 845 W. Ridge Road, in Gainesville.

In addition, the humane society will offer low-cost rabies shots and flea and tick control products.

Rabies shots and vaccinations cost $10 each. Microchips are $25. Flea and tick preventative is $15.

Puppies and kittens must be at least 3 months old for rabies vaccinations. All pets must be in a carrier or securely leashed.

No appointments are necessary and all pet owners are welcome.
