Employers seek summer workers

Job fair connects businesses with high schoolers

POSTED: April 24, 2014 1:00 a.m.

High school students seeking summer employment will have the opportunity to hunt for a job in one swoop Saturday.

Goodwill of North Georgia is partnering with Hall County Schools to host a youth employment job fair and career expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Lanier Charter Career Academy. The free event is open to all Hall County students at 2719 Tumbling Creek Road in Gainesville.

Dozens of local employers with job openings now can meet students face-to-face. Applicants must be age 16 or older and are encouraged to bring several copies of their résumé. They will have the opportunity to network with employers; therefore, they should dress to impress.

Resume building help, computer skills assessment or information on our summer forklift training opportunities will also be available.

For information, contact Johnny Varner at jvarner@ging.org or 404-536-3831, Kim Guy at Kim.Guy@hallco.org or Goodwill Oakwood Career Center at 770-538-4209.
