Local golf: CLGA holds Opening Day Lauderdale Scramble

Josephine Phillips, Martha  Nesbitt and Jeanna Tompkins teamed up to win the  Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association’s opening day Lauderdale scramble on Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Ann Hollobaugh, Rita Toomey and Bebe Blount came in second.

Closest to the pin winners were Hollobaugh (No. 3) and Martha Shell (No. 17).

DPG: The Dedicated Players Group played matches on Monday and Wednesday last week at
Chicopee Woods.

Bob Arendt and Dwight Miller tied for first place on Monday. Steve Knowles came in second.

On Wednesday, Bill Ingram won the event, while Knowles was second.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a two-best-ball, aggregated-net-points game last Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

The teams of Jack Costello, Roy Lyle, Bill Oliver and Dave Griffin tied the team of Roy Bartlett, Bill Kinser, Jim Hollobaugh and Johnny Little for first place.

Third place was a tie between Gene Weschler, Gary Palmer, Bob Henderson and Dave Valent, and the team of Bob Pyne, Larry Cohan, Parviz Khosravi and Dave Gleason.

Closest to the pin winners were Paul Payne (No. 3), Bud Clegg (No. 5), Henderson (No. 12) and Khosravi (No. 17).

DOGFIGHT: Allan Kellogg, Bob Arendt, Terry McFarland and Gayle Gibson won last week’s Wednesday dogfight best three out of four event at Chicopee Woods.

Tommy Calhoun, Tom Bolton, Greg Schrum and Len Kaper came in second.

Chris Jones, Tom Frier Jr., Pat Ruiz and Levan Webster and Chris Polumbo, Phil  Rothermel, Geoff Archibald and Henry Komoto tied for third place.

Individually, Kellogg and Bud Black tied for first, while Joe Roberts came in third.
