Morning wreck on I-985 causes backed up traffic

POSTED: April 5, 2014 12:15 a.m.

No one was seriously hurt in a morning wreck on Interstate 985 that resulted in snarled traffic and charges for one driver.

The Georgia State Patrol reported a tractor-trailer was traveling north in the right lane of I-985 when the driver lost control and struck a truck parked in the right emergency lane.

Greg Garland, 48, from Soddy Daisy, Tenn., was the driver of the tractor-trailer. He was charged with failure to maintain lane.

Both he and a passenger complained of injuries, but neither were transported for treatment.

The State Patrol said an investigation is ongoing.
