Concert for a cause

The Disabled American Veterans’ hosted its “Fulfilling Our Promises” concert Saturday night at the Carlos and Sandra Cervantes Theater at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville. The concert featured a variety of music, including classical, country and gospel performed by 15 musicians of various ages and backgrounds. The event was a fundraiser for DAV Chapter 17, which depends on donations and volunteers to assist area veterans and their families. In addition, the chapter provides scholarships for children of veterans and transportation to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Decatur.
