High school scoreboard: March 14

Corrie Thomas scored five goals for the Flowery Branch girls in a 10-0 rout of Salem on Friday in Conyers.

Kimy McNeil added two goals and an assist for the Lady Falcons (7-1-1, 2-0 Region 8-AAAAA), and Madeline McCarthy, Hannah Kirk and Laura Zwald each had a goal. Isabelle Lee and Mara Wheat also notched assists for Flowery Branch.

The Lady Falcons play host to Heritage on Tuesday in Flowery Branch.

JOHNSON GIRLS 4, WALNUT GROVE 1: Hannah Hester’s two goals powered the Lady Knights (2-5-1, 2-1 Region 8-AAAA) on Friday in Loganville.

Evelin Aviata added a goal and an assist for Johnson, and Kelsey Dumanowsky scored as well. Sandra Macedo and Chandler Steele recorded assists.

The Lady Knights visit Lanier on Tuesday in Sugar Hill.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 6, APALACHEE 0: Roberto Nunez notched a hat trick to lead the Red Elephants on Friday in Winder.

Diego Porras, Christian Ochoa and Juan Robles also scored for Gainesville (7-1-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAAAA). Ochoa, Ricardo Gomez, Ahmed Montezuma and Cesar Saucedo all tallied assists.

The Red Elephants visit Cedar Shoals on Tuesday in Athens.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 2, APALACHEE 1 (PKs): The Lady Red Elephants got penalty kick goals from Margaret Carpenter, Anna Youmans and Liz Fischer to earn the win on Friday in Winder.

Carpenter scored the lone regulation goal for Gainesville (8-0-1, 3-0 Region 8-AAAAA), and Ashlie Gonzalez stopped all three Apalachee PK attempts to secure the victory.

The Lady Red Elephants visit Cedar Shoals on Tuesday in Athens.

NORTH HALL 2, NORTH FORSYTH 0: Tyler Shows, Henry Taylor, Luis Galvan and Abraham Salvador powered the North Hall defense in a stingy win on Friday.

Hunter Carter scored on a pass from Junior Avalos for the Trojans (5-2-1), and Ricardo Peralta notched the second goal from Enrique Castrejan.

North Hall visits Buford on Tuesday.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 7, SALEM 1: Nick Biasi scored a hat trick with an assist to help the Falcons win their first region game on the season Tuesday in Conyers.

Jorge Castro scored twice for Flowery Branch (4-5, 1-1 Region 8-AAAAA). Sebastian Fernandez and Joey Brett also tallied goals.

Fernandez, Taylor Richards, Adante Aguilar and Elias Araya recorded assists for the Falcons. Flowery Branch plays Heritage on Tuesday.

Baseball

JACKSON COUNTY 2, PIKE COUNTY 0: Joel Ellis finished 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Panthers on Friday in Zebulon.

Jacob Banks went 1 for 4 with an RBI, and Nick Corso finished 1 for 3.

Andrew Fogarty allowed just three hits in 6 2/3 innings for Jackson County, and Coleman Barbee struck out the final batter of the game in the seventh inning to earn the save.

The Panthers (8-2) face Brookstone at 11 a.m. today in Columbus.

GEORGE WALTON ACADEMY 5, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 2: Christopher Ball went 1 for 3 with an RBI double for the Lions on Friday in Monroe.

Avery Smith finished with a single for Lakeview Academy.

The Lions play host to George Walton on Tuesday in Gainesville.

WHITE COUNTY 8, DAWSON COUNTY 6: Joel Pritchett’s leadoff home run set the tone for the Warriors on Friday in Cleveland.

Pritchett finished the game 2 for 4 and earned the save pitching.

Chris Jackson improved to 3-0 on the mound with the win.

Stetson Gearin knocked in a two-run homer for White County (8-0, 3-0 Region 7-AAA), and Parker Applewhite and Trey Allen each went 2 for 2.

The Warriors visit Dawson County on Monday.
