Spend St. Patrick’s Day learning about snakes

POSTED: March 13, 2014 1:00 a.m.

The fourth annual St. Patrick’s Day Snake Celebration will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Bear Hollow Zoo in Athens.

St. Patrick supposedly drove all the snakes from Ireland, so Bear Hollow staff will talk about all things “snake” at this celebration. Participants will learn facts about snake species, dispel a few myths and encounter live snakes, too.

The free program at Bear Hollow Zoo at Memorial Park is at 293 Gran Ellen Drive.

Call 706-613-3616 or visit www.athensclarkecounty.com/bearhollow for info.
