POSTED: March 13, 2014 1:00 a.m.

Art majors selected as the best will have their art work on display as part of student exhibition starting Thursday on the University of North Georgia’s campus in Dahlonega.

A reception and awards ceremony for “Plans: Hal B. Rhodes III Student Exhibition” will be at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 13 in the Bob Owens Art Gallery. Juror Jeffree Lerner has selected works for the exhibition in a broad range of styles and media, including drawings, paintings, sculpture and photography. The exhibit will be on display through April 18.

The Hal B. Rhodes III Student Exhibition showcases the best work of UNG students majoring in studio art, art marketing and art education on the Dahlonega campus. The annual juried exhibition and awards ceremony is made possible by the Hal B. Rhodes III Art Endowment Fund, established in 1990 by Hal B. Rhodes II and Elizabeth Rhodes to honor the memory of their son, Hal B. Rhodes III.

The Hal B. Rhodes III legacy enables UNG to honor the donors’ commitment to the arts by encouraging and promoting the artistic development of Department of Visual Arts students on the Dahlonega campus who have achieved excellence with scholarships.
