High school scoreboard: Feb. 28

Stephen Murray notched four RBIs in a 2-for-3 performance for North Hall in a 13-3 win against Chestatee on Friday in Gainesville.

Micah Strickland finished 1 for 3 with three RBIs for the Trojans, and Lincoln Hewett and Andrew Smith each went 2 for 4.

Josh Hammond earned the win on the mound.

North Hall visits Lanier at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Sugar Hill.

JACKSON COUNTY 17, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 4: Patrick Overstreet’s five-RBI performance, which included a double and a home run, fueled the Panthers on Friday in Lexington.

Joel Ellis went 2 for 3 for Jackson County with an RBI and three runs scored. Jacob Banks had a double and an RBI and Colby Cole finished with three RBIs and a double.

Jeremy Cook earned the win from the mound.

The Panthers play host to Prince Avenue Christian at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Jefferson.

TIFT COUNTY 3, JEFFERSON 2: Taylor Wilkes led the Dragons at the plate with a 2 for 3 performance and a run scored on Friday in Jefferson.

Micah Carpenter took the loss pitching with eight strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings.

Jefferson plays host to Tift County again at 1 p.m. today.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 13, GEORGIA MILITARY 0 (Thursday): The Eagles scored 13 runs in the first three innings to take a quick victory on Thursday in Milledgeville.

Collin Pettell hit an RBI single and allowed just one hit and struck out seven for Riverside Military. Michael Green hit two doubles with three RBIs for the Eagles, and Stephen Weschler finished 2 for 2.

Riverside Military (5-1) plays host to Elbert County at 5 p.m. Monday in Gainesville.

Soccer

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 4, JACKSON COUNTY 1: Alyssa Turner had two goals for the Lady Red Elephants on Friday in Gainesville.

Anna Youmans added the third goal for Gainesville, which visits Salem on Tuesday in Conyers.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 6, JACKSON COUNTY 0: Eric Bonilla notched a pair of goals to lead the Red Elephants on Friday.

Christian Ochoa, Ricardo Gomez, Roberto Nunez and Jose Perez-Garcia also scored for Gainesville. Nunez, Diego Porras, Wesley Cooper and Cesar Saucedo all tallied assists for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville plays host to No. 1 McIntosh at 2 p.m. today at City Park.

JOHNSON GIRLS 1, NORTH OCONEE 1: The Lady Knights’ lone goal came unassisted from Chandler Steele in the first half on Friday.

North Oconee scored with less than 10 minutes left in the game to create the tie.

Johnson (0-4-1) visits Flowery Branch at 4 p.m. today.
