The Gainesville girls snagged three singles tennis wins to overcome North Hall 3-2 on Thursday in Gainesville.

Brinkley Frankum, Katherine Wright and Georgia Summer all won in straight sets for the Lady Red Elephants, who host Salem on Tuesday at Longwood Park in Gainesville.

For North Hall, Hannah Gibson/Kaitlyn Smith and Courtney Barnes/McKay Higginbotham earned doubles victories.

NORTH HALL BOYS 4, GAINESVILLE 1: A pair of straight-set victories from Dalton Patterson at No. 3 singles and Matt Booth/Paxton Gillespie at No. 1 doubles powered the Trojans on Thursday in Gainesville.

North Hall also got wins from Jackson Davis and Dawson Smith/Reid Lattanzi.

Gainesville’s lone win was from Graham McKinnon at No. 1 singles.

The Trojans play in the Pell City Invitational on Saturday in Pell City, Ala.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 3, MADISON COUNTY 2: Melanie Smith and Carolina Gijon teamed up to out last the Red Raiders in a long, four-set No. 2 doubles match to earn the team victory on Thursday in Gainesville.

Fernanda Arcaraz picked up a singles win for the Lady War Eagles, and Haley King/Grace Brown won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles.

Chestatee plays host to Lumpkin County on Tuesday.

MADISON COUNTY BOYS 5, CHESTATEE 0: The Class AAAA state runner-up Red Raiders were too much for the War Eagles to manage on Thursday in Gainesville.

Chestatee hosts Lumpkin County on Tuesday.


WEST HALL GIRLS DEFEAT FLOWERY BRANCH: Olivia Davis paced the Lady Spartans to a six-shot victory in a five-hole match on Wednesday at Chicopee Woods.


JACKSON COUNTY 12, JOHNSON 7 (Wednesday): Patrick Overstreet hit a pair of home runs and finished with three RBIs and had a stolen base to power the Panthers on Wednesday.

Ben Brissey went 2 for 4 with a home run, and Nick Corso had an RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases for Jackson County. Jacob Banks added a pair of RBIs in a 2-for-3 performance, and Cal Tolbert was 2 for 4 with a stolen base.

Chris Griggs earned the win from the mound with four strikeouts.

RIVERSIDE MILITATY 11, CHESTATEE 5 (Wednesday): Collin Pettell notched two RBIs on three hits for the Eagles on Wednesday.

Ben Walker struck out seven hitters for Riverside Military and allowed no earned runs, three hits and two walks over six innings.
