High school scoreboard: Feb. 26

J.T. Eggert pitched five shutout innings with eight strikeouts and three hits and hit a three-run homer to lead Dawson County to a 12-0 victory against East Jackson on Wednesday in Commerce.

Logan Burt finished 3 for 4 with two RBIs for the Tigers (2-0), and Levi Whitmire added three hits. Brody Chester pitched two scoreless innings for Dawson County as well.

The Tigers visit Chestatee at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Gainesville.

WHITE COUNTY 5, LUMPKIN COUNTY 1: Matthew Hambrick pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and only two hits for the Warriors on Wednesday in Cleveland.

Tray Gearin hit a double for White County, which visits Hart County on March 5 in Hartwell.

FLOWERY BRANCH 7, NORTH HALL 6: Cooper Harrison pitched the Falcons to a win on Wednesday.

Flowery Branch visits Shiloh on Friday in Snellville.


CHESTATEE GIRLS 4, FRANKLIN COUNTY 0: Samantha Addington’s first-period penalty kick goal was good for the game winner for the Lady War Eagles on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Addington assisted on the game’s final goal from Taylor Buffington. Hope Baxter added two goals and an assist for Chestatee.

Misandy Chavez notched her second shutout in as many nights with six saves.

The Lady War Eagles visit Monroe Area on Friday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 3, BANKS COUNTY 0 (Tuesday): Andrew Bell notched the hat trick for the Lions on Tuesday.

Nathan Zottnick and J.B. Britte each added an assist for Lakeview Academy, and Dalton Snyder earned the shutout in goal.

The Lions play host to George Walton Academy on Tuesday.


JOHNSON GIRLS 5, WEST HALL 0: Ashley Hogan, Zdena Janderova and Karina Rivera all won singles matches to power the Lady Knights on Wednesday in Oakwood.

Anslie Bass/Marissa Rodriguez and Aly Groover/Kaitlyn Houston won at doubles for Johnson.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 3, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 2: Connor Thomas and Jonathan Kirwin won singles matches in straight sets to lead the Lions on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Ian Gotay/Avery Patterson picked up the lone doubles win for Lakeview Academy.

For Riverside Military, Merritt Wilburn won at No. 1 singles and Armen Akoyen/Robert Butler won at No. 2 doubles.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 4, HART COUNTY 1 (Tuesday): A pair of doubles wins from Chris Willis/Jonathan Hudson and Justin Yang/Alex Amato powered the Leopards on Tuesday.

Paul Coughlin and Luke Schaefer won singles matches for Banks County, which begins play in Region 7-AAA next week.
