Roshambeaux to perform at pub

Guitarist, drummer join forces in band

POSTED: February 27, 2014 1:00 a.m.

After being thrown together on two separate occasions, Kyle Obermeier and Jarret Chastain decided to form their own band Roshambeaux.

The rock band featuring part rap and part rave music will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight Friday at Shenanigans, 87 N. Chestatee St., in downtown Dahlonega.

Obermeier said he and Chastain did not get along at first.

“We really didn’t like each other!” the Roshambeaux guitarist and singer said. “We met at a festival. We were playing with separate bands. It was so apparent we had absolutely nothing at all in common. And that was that. Or so we thought.”

A year later, fate threw Obermeier and Chastain together again. Chastain was a fill-in drummer for a band Obermeier was performing with.

“After a handful of shows, we grew closer personally and musically and decided to put an original band together,” Obermeier said. “And Roshambeaux was born.”
