High school scoreboard: Feb. 6

Bridgette Kelly scored 16 points and the Chestatee Lady War Eagles beat Stephens County 41-34 on Thursday night, setting a school record with 21 wins in a regular season.

Kayla Watson finished with 10 points, while Tyler Bennett contributed with six for Chestatee (21-4, 8-0 Region 8-AAAA).

The Lady War Eagles will play Monday night in the Region 8-AAAA tournament.

JOHNSON BOYS 107, MONROE AREA 47: Thirteen players scored as the Knights claimed their 20th victory of the season, giving Johnson back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time in school history.

James Hodges led the Knights (20-5) with 25 points and six rebounds, while Justin Jones finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Ty Cockfield scored 15 points and added seven assists, while Carter Cagle scored 12 and hauled in seven rebounds. Drew

Dunham chipped in with nine points and 10 assists, while Sean Wiese contributed with nine points.

Johnson opened a 26-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter, before building a 66-23 halftime lead behind nine first-half 3-pointers. Johnson continued to pile it on in the second half, outscoring the Purple Hurricanes 28-16 in the third quarter to grab a 94-39 lead heading into the final quarter.

Johnson will return to action Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the Region 8-AAAA tournament at Lanier High in Sugar Hill.

BUFORD GIRLS 60, WHITE COUNTY 29: Camille Anderson scored 12 points and Marissa Bruce finished with 10 as the Buford girls’ basketball team remained perfect in Region 7-AAA play.

The Lady Wolves (22-2, 13-0) visit North Hall tonight at 6 p.m. in Gainesville. Buford’s girls will serve as the host of the Region 7-AAA tournament next Wednesday through Saturday. The Lady Wolves will host West Hall in the first round Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
