Heart-healthy living topic on tap at history center

African-American history focus of forum Tuesday

Hearts, Health and History is the theme for the monthly Family Day at the Northeast Georgia History Center.

To celebrate heart health, healthy living, medical history and Valentine’s Day, hands-on activities and interactive and static exhibits will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at 322 Academy St. NE, in Gainesville. A scavenger hunt will be at 2:30 p.m.

Admission is free.

Two days later, the history center will host a forum at 7 p.m. about African-American history in Hall County. Linda Rucker Hutchens and Ella J. Wilmont Smith, co-authors of a book about the Black America series, will be the feature speakers.

Admission is free for members and $3 for nonmembers.
