POSTED: January 18, 2014 11:14 p.m.

A dusting of light snow is possible today in the northernmost areas of the North Georgia mountains.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for light snow in the early morning hours with light accumulations of a half-inch or less.

Areas that may see snow include Dahlonega, Dawsonville, Cleveland, Helen, Blairsville and Hiawasee.

Temperatures are expected to fall back below freezing in most areas, warming to the mid-40s Sunday. Sunday night will be clear and cold, with temperatures in the upper 20s.

Skies will be clear Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, with highs reaching the mid- to upper 50s and no rain in sight.
