Santa Claus visits Atlanta Street Homes

POSTED: January 12, 2014 1:00 a.m.

The Soldiers of Truth Motorcycle Ministry visited the Atlanta Street Homes in Gainesville as rain poured down Dec. 14.

The volunteers erected tents in front of the community center and prepared hot meals of ham, potato salad and green beans for the residents along with Christmas cheer.

As a bonus for the little ones, Santa and one of his elves dropped in with sacks full of gifts and candy canes for every child. The toys were donated by The Alley Church at 1035 Martin Luther King Blvd. in Gainesville.

Some special helpers also gave each child a Bible. The Seed ministry of John and Christy Watson provided the Bibles.

To personalize each Bible, the children’s hands were drawn on the inside cover along with their name.

The Soldiers of Truth are based out of The Alley Church lead by Pastor Dustin Ledford. Sunday fellowship is at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday Bible study at 6:30 p.m.
