2 charged after victim forced into bathroom, shots fired

Two Gainesville residents were arrested after a woman was forced into the bathroom of her apartment, according to arrest warrants, and shots were reportedly fired.

Gainesville police responded at about 1:45 p.m. Saturday to a reported assault with shots fired at Lake Forrest Apartments, 1360 Otila Drive off Dawsonville Highway.

According to arrest warrants in the case, Taneka Haynes, 30, was dragged against her will from a hallway into the bathroom of her apartment, where she lives with the two suspects.

Lawana Cleveland, 25, is charged with attempted murder. Kendrick Deshawn Goss, 33, is charged with aggravated assault. They both are charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment.

Arrest warrants on the assault and attempted murder charges were not available Monday.

The Gainesville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division declined to release any other information about the case.
