Civilian promoted at U.S. Army engineering center

Department of the Army civilian Jared I. Oren was promoted to the position of chief of the engineering resources branch at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center at Hanover, N.H.

Oren has served in federal service for four years.

He is the son of Donald G. Oren of New Castle, Del., and Rosemary B. Epps of Lula. His wife, Sonia, is the daughter of Lewis and Jean Lain of Westtown, N.Y.

Oren graduated from Tower Hill School, in Wilmington, Del., in 2000, and received a bachelor of science in 2004 from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, in West Point, N.Y. He also earned a master of science in 2011 from Georgia Institute Of Technology in Atlanta.
