‘King Lear’ reigns until Dec. 1

Often regarded as William Shakespeare’s crowning achievement, “King Lear” is a tragedy about the relationship between parents and their offspring and shows how quickly relatives can become blinded by fear and killed with love.

“King Lear” will run until Dec. 1 at The Shakespeare Tavern in Atlanta.

Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 6:30 p.m. Sundays; and 10 a.m. most Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Ticket for main floor seats, box seats on the floor and balcony seats range in price on performance days. Tickets for non-preview Thursday shows are $20 for adults and $15 for students. Friday night prices range from $32-$22. Saturday night performances cost from $36-$24. And Sunday tickets cost between $28 and $15. The 10 a.m. matinees cost $14.

Student and educators receive $5 off per price level per night except in the balcony on Thursdays and Sundays. Military, seniors, groups of 10 or more receive $3 off except in the balcony on Thursdays and Sundays.
