Hall residents win the Kress Collection honor

TEAM ARTS of North Georgia members won a Georgia Museum of Art contest for its radio broadcast/podcast of the show "Explorers 1492: Who Really Discovered America?" Three Hall County residents won $500 for their creative entry to the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens.

Their creative product is published in a collectible hardbound volume, “The Kress Project” book. Contest rules were to create an original response to one of the artworks of the Italian Renaissance Kress Collection at the museum.

Three adult Gainesville winners were:

* Alison Reeger Cook for “The Saintly Stew,” a humorous short story and a culinary recipe to represent the saints.

* Lyndrid Patterson for “A True Saint,” a pencil drawing portrait memorial of her mother in a gold Renaissance style frame.

* Marianne Scott for “Explorers 1492: Who Really Discovered America?” a one-hour radio broadcast/podcast, produced by TEAM ARTS of North Georgia, for Brenau University Public Radio WBCX FM 89.1.
