Local golf: Davidson aces No. 7 on the Village at Chicopee Woods

Stan Davidson Jr. recorded a hole-in-one on the No. 7 at the Village with the Luna’s Tuesday golf at Chicopee Woods Golf Course. Blake Nix, Bud Black, Doug Van and Richard Strickland finished in first place as a team. Davidson Jr., Royce Deaton, Don Smallwood and Don Rogers came in second.

Closest to the pin winners were Cleve Brown (No. 2 Mill), Gene Weschler (No. 5 Mill) and Davidson Jr. (No. 4 and No. 7 Village).

CLGA: The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played their year-end “Turkey Shoot” flighted low net event Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Ann Hollobaugh won the first flight, and Martha Shell and Sue Cronmiller tied for second. In the second flight, Carolyn Palmer finished in first place, and Beulah Land was second.

Closest to the pin winners were Hollobaugh (No. 3) and Ann White (No. 17).

DOGFIGHT: The teams of Luke James, Roger Stapp, Kevin Holman and Tommy Calhoun, and Phil Rothermel, Henry Komoto and Darrell Pinner both tied for first place at last week’s Wednesday dogfight event at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.

Stapp finished first individually with a score of 66, Eric Awtry came in second with a 67, and Lou Vega carded a 68 for third place.

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played an individual flighted net points game Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

In the first flight, Jere Cochran came in first, and Roy Bartlett and Carlyle Cox tied for second.

Paul Payne and Bill Oliver tied for first place in the second flight, and Stu Virgin and Gary Palmer tied for third place.

In the third flight, Dave Long took first place, Bob Watson came in second, and Roger Miller was third.

Closest to the pin winners were Dave Griffin (No. 3), J.B. Johnston (No. 5), Cox (No. 12) and Doug Van (No. 17).
