Fresh Apple Cake and Mrs. Bailey's Dessert recipes

Fresh Apple Cake

* 2 cups sugar
* 3 cups fresh apples, chopped
* 3 cups plain flour
* 2 eggs
* 1 cup oil
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon cinnamon
* 2 teaspoons vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine oil, sugar and eggs. Mix well.

Sift flour and dry ingredients together. Mix dry ingredients with sugar mixture. Add vanilla and chopped apples.

Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake for 1 hour.

Top with icing.

Mrs. Bailey’s Dessert

* 2 cans of crescent rolls
* 2 bars of cream cheese softened
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 1/4 cup butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray or grease large (9-by-13-inch) pan bottom lightly.

Roll out 1 can of crescent rolls in bottom of pan.

Mix cream cheese with sugar and vanilla with mixer until the consistency of cake icing. Spread mixture over the rolls in the pan.

Roll second can of crescent rolls over the top of the cream cheese mixture.

Melt the butter and drizzle over the top. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over butter.

Smooth sugar out with spoon.

Bake for 30 minutes.
