POSTED: September 10, 2013 9:55 p.m.

MIAMI  — Right fielder Justin Upton has left the Atlanta Braves' game against the Miami Marlins with a bruised right knee, and his status is day to day.

Upton fouled a ball off his knee in the fourth inning Tuesday night. He stayed in the game long enough to complete his plate appearance, but after drawing a walk, he came out for a pinch-runner.

Upton leads the NL East-leading Braves with 24 homers and is batting .259.
