Women’s group donates $15,000 to 2 nonprofits

POSTED: September 8, 2013 1:00 a.m.

In a sluggish economy, a group of North Georgia women take action to improve the lives of women and girls locally, regionally and internationally.

The Women’s Giving Circle of North Georgia donated $15,000 to two nonprofit organizations, Georgia Women For A Change and Engender Health.

As a donor-advised fund of the Northeast Georgia Community Foundation, members and supporters of the Giving Circle make charitable, tax-deductible gifts to the fund. Once a year, members decide where the funds will be given to better the lives of women and girls in North Georgia and beyond.

The Women’s Giving Circle of North Georgia provides a way for individuals to have greater impact on issues such as human trafficking, violence against women, reproductive rights and women in the military.
