Farmer’s Home manager McElrea honored

Rodger McElrea, manager of the Gainesville Farmer’s Home Furniture store, has been recognized by the company as its Store Manager of the Year for 2012-13.

McElrea was selected from 177 store managers in five Southeastern states. He was presented the award by company president and CEO Phillip Faircloth at the annual store manager’s banquet.

As the recipient of the award, McElrea becomes a member of the company’s elite Chairman’s Club, as well as receiving a 2013 Ford Mustang convertible and an expense-paid trip to Los Angeles.

“I was shocked and humbled to be recognized as the manager of the year,” he said. “The award is a reflection of the hard work my staff does every day to provide our customers with great service, great prices and in-store financing. They really are wonderful people to work with.” 

Farmers Home Furniture is located at 1500 Browns Bridge Road, Gainesville.

Edward Jones cites local adviser Gresham

Lance R. Gresham, an adviser with the financial services firm Edward Jones in Gainesville, recently earned the company’s Century Award for outstanding performance in 2012.

Gresham was one of 522 of the firm’s 12,000 advisers to earn the honor. Edward Jones managing partner Jim Weddle called Gresham a leader in the firm.

“I am one of those fortunate people who gets to make a living doing something I truly enjoy,” Gresham said. “This industry is always challenging and sometimes difficult, but I enjoy helping the people of Hall County meet their financial goals. It’s a pleasure to be recognized for my work.”
