East Hall volleyball wins five matches at Eastside

Lady Vikings beat Stockbridge, Salem, Alcovy, Eastside and Jackson

The East Hall High volleyball program won all five matches in straight sets in the Eastside Eagle Playdate on Saturday in Covington.

Tarryn Long had 35 kills, 16 digs and 23 points on the serve for the Lady Vikings, who beat Stockbridge 25-4, 25-21; Salem 25-7, 25-17; Alcovy 25-14, 25-10; Eastside 25-5, 25-12; and Jackson 25-17, 25-14.

For East Hall, Kara Hix had 28 digs, 17 points on the serve, nine kills and eight aces, while Ashleigh Burnett contributed 30 points on the serve, 14 digs and 13 kills. Cassida Shockley finished with 72 assists, 22 points on the serve, 10 aces and seven kills for the Lady Vikings.

Jessica Chmiel scored 42 points on serves with eight aces and four digs for East Hall. The Lady Vikings travel to Lanier for a tri-match with Duluth on Thursday in Sugar Hill.
