Your Views: Be proactive vs. post-active in teaching children our virtues

POSTED: August 8, 2013 1:00 a.m.

The home is the most important institution in any civilization in the world. These are the things that it offers: training in the humanities, courtesy, politeness, refinement of thoughts, manners, and taste.

What this does is put the onus on every parent to teach these to their children. This also teaches self-control to let children at any age to know that something that looks good doesn’t mean that it is good.

Your virtues make you valuable. You must conquer your weakness or your weakness will conquer you.

The homes and the teaching of our religious institutions can help to take the burden off the schools, the criminal and justice systems, and most of all, the taxpayers.
